Tanzania grows mango and guava in abundance, yet much of the harvest is lost for lack of processing capacity. A food-processing group in Dar es Salaam saw the opportunity: turn surplus tropical fruit into shelf-stable, hot-filled juice for the East African market. zoolinked mechanical delivered the turnkey line to make it happen.
This 8,000 BPH hot-fill mango & guava juice line was built to handle fibrous tropical pulp — a very different challenge from clear juices — while protecting colour, aroma and vitamins.

The Tropical-Pulp Challenge
High-pulp tropical juices need equipment that moves viscous product without shearing out the fibre or scorching the sugars. Our line was configured specifically for this:
- Belt-press juicing for high yield from fibrous mango/guava.
- Powder-liquid blending to standardise Brix and acidity batch-to-batch.
- Tubular UHT sterilisation — gentle on viscous, particulate product where plate UHT would clog.
- Glass-bottle hot-fill at 85–88°C to lock in shelf life without preservatives.
Process Flow
- RO water treatment for dilution and CIP.
- Fruit washing → pulping → belt-press juicing (pre-treatment).
- Powder-liquid blending for nectar formulation.
- Sanitary storage / buffer tanks.
- Tubular UHT sterilisation.

The line was installed and hot-commissioned in 20 working days. Operators learned pulp handling, UHT temperature control and hot-fill capping — plus seasonal changeover between mango and guava runs.
