A rapidly growing fruit-processing company in the Mekong Delta of Vietnam commissioned us to design and build a complete fruit juice production line for mango, passion fruit and mixed tropical blends. Their ambition was to move up the value chain — from exporting raw fruit pulp to bottling finished, branded NFC (not-from-concentrate) juices for domestic retail and export across Southeast Asia.
Project Background
Vietnam is one of the world’s largest producers of tropical fruit, yet a significant share of that harvest is still sold as low-margin raw material or lost to post-harvest spoilage. Our client wanted to capture more value locally by processing fresh fruit into premium juices with a clean-label positioning. The core challenges were preserving the fresh aroma and natural color of delicate tropical fruit, achieving shelf stability without a cold chain, and building a line flexible enough to switch between single-fruit and blended recipes.
Engineering the Turnkey Solution
Working from the client’s fruit mix and target output, our engineers designed an end-to-end line covering every stage from fresh fruit to palletized finished goods:
- Fruit reception, washing and sorting to remove field heat, debris and substandard fruit
- Pulping and de-stoning tuned for stone fruit like mango and seed-heavy passion fruit
- Enzymatic treatment and fine finishing to control pulp content and mouthfeel
- Vacuum de-aeration and gentle preheating to protect color, vitamins and aroma
- Blending and formulation station for sugar, acidity and multi-fruit recipes
- UHT/tubular sterilization followed by aseptic or hot filling for ambient shelf life
- Automatic labeling, coding, shrink packing and palletizing
Protecting Flavor and Nutrition
Tropical fruit juices live or die on freshness of taste. The line uses vacuum de-aeration to strip dissolved oxygen before heat treatment, sharply reducing oxidation that dulls color and flavor. Short-time, high-temperature sterilization preserves heat-sensitive aromatics far better than long, low-temperature holding. The result is a bottled juice that tastes close to fresh-pressed while remaining safe on the shelf for months.
Flexibility for a Growing Product Range
Because the client plans to expand its SKU range, the blending system and format-change parts allow fast switching between single-fruit juices, nectars and mixed tropical blends in various bottle sizes. This lets the brand respond quickly to retailer demand without new capital investment for every product.
Results Delivered
After installation, commissioning and operator training by our team, the line reached stable commercial output with excellent flavor retention and consistent fill accuracy. The client successfully transitioned from a raw-material supplier to a branded juice producer, opening higher-margin retail and export channels across the region.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the line handle both juices and fruit vinegar? Yes — with fermentation and additional processing modules, the same core platform can be extended to fruit vinegar production.
Is cold-chain distribution required? No. Proper UHT/aseptic processing delivers ambient shelf life suited to tropical logistics.
How is pulp content controlled? Adjustable finishing screens and enzymatic treatment let you dial in anything from clear juice to high-pulp nectar.
